A Report by La’o Hamutuk
On 18 February, 2008, La'o Hamutuk held a Book Launch for our report on Sunrise LNG at Memorial Hall in Dili. In spite of the State of Emergency following the attempted assassinations of the President and Prime Minister one week before, more than 115 people came, filling the room to capacity. Attendees included 23 from Timorese NGOs, 18 from international NGOs, 14 from the petroleum sector of the government, 17 from other government departments, 13 journalists, 10 foreign diplomats, six from international institutions and three from oil companies.
